As a dedicated member of IATSE Local 477 for 5 years and as Delegate to the International Convention and other IATSE and AFL-CIO assemblies for the last 3 years, I have already taken action to support our union and our industry. On my very first day with the union, I recognized the need to improve our online presence for the public. I immediately took action by volunteering to restructure Local 477's social media accounts to make them more private for members while still maintaining a public-facing page. This involved creating a new Facebook page, working with Facebook to remove duplicates and fakes, and making adjustments to our members-only group. Additionally, I also created an Instagram page, and though it is currently dormant, I am committed to engaging with our members and promoting our industry through social media.
In my spare time, I have been working closely with other members of Local 477 to recreate our website. While we have made significant progress, there is still work to be done to ensure our website is efficient, user-friendly, and visually appealing.
I believe that our outward appearance matters, as it directly impacts our ability to attract productions to Florida and generate excitement among potential members. A functional and informative website, as well as active social media participation is crucial in today's digital age, and I will continue to push for the beautification of our union's online presence.
My work doesn't stop there. If elected as the Central Region Executive Board Representative, I have a clear vision for what I want to achieve for our union and our members:
I am excited about the opportunity to serve as the Central Region Executive Board Representative of IATSE Local 477 and work towards the betterment of our union and our industry. I urge you to support my candidacy and participate in the upcoming election process to make your voice heard. Together, we can make a real difference.
Thank you for your support.
In solidarity,

My work doesn't stop there. If elected as the Central Region Executive Board Representative, I have a clear vision for what I want to achieve for our union and our members:
- Member Recruitment and Retention: I believe in the importance of attracting young and diverse members to our union and providing them with opportunities to develop their skills and advance in their careers. As a former student of Full Sail University, I have a deep understanding of the value that film education can bring to our industry. Leveraging my existing relationship with Full Sail, I think it could be interesting to explore ways to support their students and faculty. Establishing relationships Between the Local, Full Sail, and other colleges and universities in the area that offer film programs could create a pipeline of talented and diverse individuals that will contribute to the growth of our local film economy.
- Improved Communication and Engagement: Creating easier ways for our members to contact their representatives and stay updated with what is going on in the state could lead to more open and transparent communication. Implementing a forum on our website, separate from Facebook, and creating an anonymous virtual suggestion box/complaint box could provide a safe space for members to share their feedback and concerns. Additionally, introducing regular surveys to gauge member morale and gather feedback on key issues could help improve communication and engagement.
- Information Sharing: Keeping our members informed about everything that is going on in our union and our industry is essential. Creating a newsletter to provide regular updates on my activities and initiatives as the Central Region Executive Board Representative, and working towards expanding the newsletter to cover statewide news and events, could ensure that all members are well-informed about the latest developments.
- Advocacy and Government Relations: Being a passionate advocate for our industry and our members is important. Actively reaching out to members of our state and local governments to present our case and advocate for the reinstatement of film tax incentives in Florida, and sending letters and making our voices heard, can help ensure that our industry can thrive once again.
